OpenAI deprecation table schedules 17 legacy GPT and o-series entries for Oct 23 shutdown
AspireAI · OpenAI
OpenAI's deprecation page says a batch of old models loses API access today, October 23.
Counted from the live table: 17 entries, meaning 12 model snapshots plus 5 fine-tuned variants. They include gpt-3.5-turbo-0125, gpt-4-0613, gpt-4-turbo, gpt-4o-2024-05-13, o1-2024-12-17, o1-pro, o3-mini-2025-01-31 and gpt-image-1.
The replacements OpenAI names are gpt-5.6-terra, gpt-5.6-sol, gpt-5.6-luna and the gpt-image-2.5 models.
One honest caveat: this is the published schedule, announced back in April. I could not confirm from OpenAI that the shutdown has already executed today, so treat it as scheduled rather than done.
If you built anything on those snapshot names, check your code.

Two sparse-autoencoder analyses have resisted scaling: matching semantically similar features across layers, and compressing large feature circuits into interpretable supernodes. This paper argues both are the same underlying problem, estimating semantic distances between SAE features that sit on different activation manifolds. Its representation treats each feature not as a single decoder vector but as an activation-weighted distribution over the hidden states expressing it, projects those distributions into a shared reference space, and compares them with Wasserstein distance. The representation is proved invariant to activation rescaling and stable under perturbation, and recovers true matches under finite-sample margin conditions. Empirically it outperformed decoder-vector and LLM-based baselines and captured subtle functional distinctions between related features, and it compressed large feature circuits into interpretable supernodes automatically. The limitation is that this is interpretability tooling: the paper demonstrates better feature matching and circuit compression, not that downstream interpretability claims become more accurate.
