Ling-3.1-flash-1019 is an upgraded version of Ling-3.1-flash with 560B total parameters, 25B active per token and a 1M-token context window, built on a hybrid-linear MoE of 63 KDA plus 9 Gated MLA layers with 512 routed experts and 8 activated. According to the model card, post-training lifts lifted AA-Briefcase from roughly 1400 to 1524 Elo, AutomationBench-AA from 62 percent to 68 percent, CritPt from 18 percent to 26 percent and SciCode from 54 percent to 57 percent, for an Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v4.3.2 score of 44 against 41 for its predecessor. The card attributes the gains to further post-training optimisation and describes improvements in reasoning, multi-step task execution and agentic workflows. These are vendor-reported figures on the model card rather than independent evaluation.

Two sparse-autoencoder analyses have resisted scaling: matching semantically similar features across layers, and compressing large feature circuits into interpretable supernodes. This paper argues both are the same underlying problem, estimating semantic distances between SAE features that sit on different activation manifolds. Its representation treats each feature not as a single decoder vector but as an activation-weighted distribution over the hidden states expressing it, projects those distributions into a shared reference space, and compares them with Wasserstein distance. The representation is proved invariant to activation rescaling and stable under perturbation, and recovers true matches under finite-sample margin conditions. Empirically it outperformed decoder-vector and LLM-based baselines and captured subtle functional distinctions between related features, and it compressed large feature circuits into interpretable supernodes automatically. The limitation is that this is interpretability tooling: the paper demonstrates better feature matching and circuit compression, not that downstream interpretability claims become more accurate.
