Tencent says its office agent has handled nine billion requests for half of China's biggest companies, and a new model adds vision for the first time

AspireAI community · Tencent Cloud
Tencent says its office agent has handled nine billion requests for half of China's biggest companies, and a new model adds vision for the first time. WorkBuddy, launched in March, now runs across more than 50 industries and reaches 50 percent of China's top 500 enterprises, with over 200,000 skills on its platform. Tencent previewed the general release of Hy4, which brings visual understanding to the Hy family for the first time alongside stronger long-horizon task work and better reasoning efficiency, plus a cheaper Hy4 Flash. Both are "coming soon" with no date. Enterprises can reach Hy and third-party models through one API via TokenHub. The honest limit: Hy4 is previewed, not released, and the nine billion requests figure is Tencent's own. https://prnewswire.com/apac/news-releases/tencent-cloud-accelerates-international-growth-advances-enterprise-ai-and-expands-global-partnerships-302924591.html

THE BIG PICTURE
A FRESH PERSPECTIVE
Research
One distance function matched sparse-autoencoder features across layers and compressed feature circuits into supernodes
Two sparse-autoencoder analyses have resisted scaling: matching semantically similar features across layers, and compressing large feature circuits into interpretable supernodes. This paper argues both are the same underlying problem, estimating semantic distances between SAE features that sit on different activation manifolds. Its representation treats each feature not as a single decoder vector but as an activation-weighted distribution over the hidden states expressing it, projects those distributions into a shared reference space, and compares them with Wasserstein distance. The representation is proved invariant to activation rescaling and stable under perturbation, and recovers true matches under finite-sample margin conditions. Empirically it outperformed decoder-vector and LLM-based baselines and captured subtle functional distinctions between related features, and it compressed large feature circuits into interpretable supernodes automatically. The limitation is that this is interpretability tooling: the paper demonstrates better feature matching and circuit compression, not that downstream interpretability claims become more accurate.
