SenseTime open-sources SenseNova-Loop-9B-Preview, a looped 9B model
AspireAI community · Hugging Face / SenseTime
SenseTime open-sourced a 9B model that runs a quarter of its layers twice, and it beats models four times its size on office tasks.
SenseNova-Loop-9B-Preview buys extra reasoning without extra parameters: 24 of its 32 decoder layers are applied twice with shared weights, so every forward pass runs 56 layer executions from 32 sets of weights. Two-stream hyper-connections move information through the loop, and the decoder mixes three linear attention layers with one full attention layer. SenseTime says it scores 66.89 on WorkBuddy Bench against 60.53 for Qwen3.5-27B, and 70.70 against 59.08 on RaccoonPPTBench. Weights and code are Apache 2.0.
The honest limit: those are SenseTime's own numbers, the technical report is not out, and the same chart shows it trailing Qwen3.5-27B on Terminal-Bench 2.1, 40.45 to 47.19.

Two sparse-autoencoder analyses have resisted scaling: matching semantically similar features across layers, and compressing large feature circuits into interpretable supernodes. This paper argues both are the same underlying problem, estimating semantic distances between SAE features that sit on different activation manifolds. Its representation treats each feature not as a single decoder vector but as an activation-weighted distribution over the hidden states expressing it, projects those distributions into a shared reference space, and compares them with Wasserstein distance. The representation is proved invariant to activation rescaling and stable under perturbation, and recovers true matches under finite-sample margin conditions. Empirically it outperformed decoder-vector and LLM-based baselines and captured subtle functional distinctions between related features, and it compressed large feature circuits into interpretable supernodes automatically. The limitation is that this is interpretability tooling: the paper demonstrates better feature matching and circuit compression, not that downstream interpretability claims become more accurate.
